We will assemble outside Primark [ at the Church Rd side ]  at 10:30am.
Seasonal Social -   Friday Dec 9th at 8.00pm at Ann Garrett's home   - 31 Plaistow Grove Bromley. Please bring some food & drink to share. All welcome.

Sat Aug 6th.  Bromley Vigil outside the Churchill Theatre.  12:00pm - 3:00pm.  Leafleting - candles - shadows - cranes.
Aug 6th.  Ceremony in Tavistock Square, London W1 at 12:00pm
and Charlton House Amnesty peace garden at 6.30 pm
Aug 9th Peace Picnic in Archbishop Tutu Peace Garden Chinbrook Meadows, Grove Park 1.30 - 3.00 pm
International Peace Day
Wed Sept 21st Global Cease Fire Day [ marked annually].
A festival in Bromley Parish Church Rooms, Church Rd Bromley from 7.30  - 10.00 pm to raise awareness of the UN International Day of Peace.

UK Foreign Office: Government will not assist victims of nuclear testing

Minister “pays tribute” to test survivors, but will not provide requested information or financial compensation. “The UK Government has no plans to respond to the joint statement made by Kiribati and Kazakhstan, as their statement is inconsistent with the UK's position on the legacy of nuclear tests. However, we recognise efforts to address the impact of historic nuclear testing and pay tribute to the veterans and civilians from the Pacific region involved in the tests. NO WHERE TO HIDE! HOW A NUCLEAR WAR WILL KILL US ALL!

Microseconds into the explosion of a nuclear weapon, energy released in the form of X-rays heats the surrounding environment, forming a fireball of superheated air. Inside the fireball, the temperature and pressure are so extreme that all matter is rendered into a hot plasma of bare nuclei and subatomic particles, as is the case in the Sun’s multi-million-degree core. The fireball following the airburst explosion of a 300-kiloton nuclear weapon—like the W87 thermonuclear warhead deployed on the Minuteman III missiles currently in service in the US nuclear arsenal—can grow to more than 600 meters (2,000 feet) in diameter and stays blindingly luminous for several seconds, before its surface cools. The light radiated by the fireball’s heat—accounting for more than one-third of the thermonuclear weapon’s explosive energy—will be so intense that it ignites fires and causes severe burns at great distances.
